Fieldworkers from Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) are currently working in various Overstrand communities as part of the national Continuous Population Survey (CPS), which forms part of the Household Survey Programme Redesign.
The purpose of the visit is to list the structures on each erf. During the short visit, a fieldworker will ask for a name, surname and contact number from one household member. The process takes no more than five minutes.
This project aims to collect reliable and up-to-date population and social statistics at the local level between national censuses.
From 17 to 21 July 2025, two additional fieldworkers will be active in Voëlklip, before continuing to Betty’s Bay from 22 to 25 July. The fieldworkers are Iodine Williams and Cherie Klaase. They will be driving a Suzuki Ciaz (MB05YZGP) and a Toyota Corolla Quest (CAA 602491).
Another fieldworker, Burnidene Stevens, has completed work in Vermont and Sandbaai and is currently working in Hermanus Heights from 16 to 21 July, followed by Westcliff (around Mariners Village) from 22 to 25 July.
